Coordinate A Seminar
Finding Inspiration in Healing

The Coordinator
The Coordinator is a motivated individual who organizes BodyTalk or LifeScience seminars at the local level, or online, following the guidance and preferences of the Instructor for whom they are coordinating. In this fashion, the Coordinator also supports the Instructor and their students by holding the energy of the class, and witnesses the dynamics created between the Instructor and students. This aspect can be one of the most rewarding parts of being a Coordinator, as you watch the “a-ha’s” occur and observe students’ overwhelm and confusion transform into confidence and excitement for BodyTalk.
Some of the specific tasks for a Coordinator could include marketing the course to fill seats, student correspondence and support, organizing the details and Zoom setup for an online seminar, finding and securing a venue for in-person seminars, providing snacks, providing local knowledge related to restaurants, hotels and airports, overseeing manual orders or shipments, and assisting with getting the students organized and settled before a course and during breaks. There may be other tasks as well, depending upon the Instructor, venue, and location.
Another major role of the Coordinator is to be a promoter of the BodyTalk System in the local area or greater virtual community. Coordinators are a direct representative of the IBA and its Instructors and should act in a professional, ethical manner. Ideally, Coordinators should be Certified BodyTalk Practitioners (CBPs) in current BodyTalk practice and a member of the IBA, but that is not always possible. At the very least, the Coordinator should be someone that is extremely interested in seeing BodyTalk thrive in the local community and country. Passion for BodyTalk and the desire and ability to network effectively are prime resources that will help any Coordinator be successful. Successful Coordinators lead to successful Instructors and to Students who feel nurtured and supported. Coordinators truly help a BodyTalk matrix thrive.
We hope this definition inspires and excites you. Some people are very well suited to be Coordinators. While Instructors can be their own coordinators and are allowed to manage all aspects of the course themselves, the mental and energetic preparation for a seminar is already a lot of work, so Coordinators can help support the more technical aspects of managing a course and provide a lot of relief for Instructors.
